Curiosidades:
"Start of The Breakdown" fecha "The Hurting" e apresenta uma das linhas de baixo mais criativas da históia do Tears for Fears. A versão ao vivo encontrada no single de "The Way You Are" tem um arranjo ligeiramente diferente, com um pouco de guitarra do Roland adicionada perto do fim.

"Foi referência ao meu pai, que teve um colapso nervoso. Ele teve arterosclerose e colapso nervoso: "Dry skin flakes when there's ice in the veins..." Ele teve arterosclerose e teve um colapso nervoso.. Na época existiam certas bandas que te permitiam essa morbidez, e eram bandas legais, bandas como Joy Division que glorificavam esse tipo de dor e instintos suicidas".
